  1. Simply an amazing piece of craftsmanship, sir. Words cannot accurately express nor describe the amount of admiration I have for such an outstanding display of workmanship you've shown here. This is most definitely a, if not THE, top contender for the model of the YEAR, not just the month here on iModeler. Superb job, my friend - in ALL respects.

    • Thank you very much for your praise. I love USS Missouri very much. I want to make all the things I can express her. She helped liberate my country and rescued my homeland from the North Korea’s invasion.
Because of the lack of data, I still can’t build Missouri 1950 version.
Later, I want to build it, the Korean War diorama.
Thank you so much for your compliment.

  3. Very nice build. The figures add great visual interest (I love the deck-swapping crew!), and the weathering looks very convincing (although as an aircraft builder, I'd point out the weathering on the two aircraft is a bit over the top, but from an artistic standpoint it probably helps it stand out at this scale).

  4. You've done a wonderful job of portraying "life aboard ship" with those figures. Your model is so good I have decided to keep my kit in its box for the forseeable future.

One thing (not a complaint) would be to replace those floatplanes with either Trumpeter's 1/350 Curtiss SC-1 Seahawk or OS2U Kingfisher kits, because whatever those things are, they're not anything that ever sat on Mighty Mo's catapults.

Past that, you have admirably recreated what she would have looked like around December 1944-January 1945 at sea.

    • Thank you for your good pointing out. I confess one more thing. In fact, I didn't have OS2U Kingfisher. So, I remodeled SB2C Helldiver. If you look closely, you'll know.
Anyway, Thank you for your comments. ^^

  5. Greg is right ab out the weathering of the airplanes. At sea, crews never let aircraft get to that state, because the salt air would corrode the aluminum structure to dust at that point. Since everything else is really right in its look at condition, they are again the one thing to re-think because this is such a good model it deserves only the best everywhere.

  6. Your eye for detail is amazing, right down to the sailor swabbing the deck. Great work!

  7. I am quite nearly stunned. Simply amazing museum piece here.

I would respectfully concur about the floatplanes, although I am open to correction here. They appear to be float versions of the SB2C Helldiver, which was a rare bird indeed and very doubtfully was used on the Missouri. And the officer in charge would have faced some wrath over the condition of their paint!

But that is an extremely minor point. Your weathering, figures, and paint job on the hull is professional quality in every respect. Hats off to you!

    • Wow, You are the first person to notice that this is a remodeling of the helldiver. I take my hat off to you.
And, thank you very much for your comments.

  8. You've done it again, are you sure, you are from this planet, talk about out of this world.

  9. I agree with others that say this is museum quality. It certainly is! Absolutely the best model I've seen here on iModeler.

    Superb work. Well done.

  12. They don't come better than that! Amazing in every aspect!

  13. Magnificent build!

  14. I know I'm late to the party regarding this model as I've just received the latest newsletter but now that I've seen it I could'nt not pass up the opportunity to add my sincere congratulations on a magnificent build. Bravo!

  15. I have a kit of the USS Arizona...I hope I could acheive even a fraction of the quality of your work. Thanks for sharing your build. You are an inspiration to the rest of us!
    Dan.

    • Hobby Boss is Arizona? It will be a very tough job. I have also built it. I used the AK interactive crusted rust set.
One tip is that the medium rust has the effect of fading the hull's color. If you mix ight rust with salt paint, it works like my missouri.

  16. Won-hui Lee,

I have huge respect for your ships, they are both beautiful and technically brilliant. I am just starting a build of the Enterprise (CV6) - could you please tell me (and the other iModelers) your top five tips for building ships?
    Thanks,

    David

    • Wow, I will build Enterprise (CV-6), too.
If you want hard weathering, I recommend you, Ak interactive's crusted rust set, and naval ships weathering set vol. 1.
First, medium rust's effect is fading of hull's color.
Mixture's effect, Light rust and salt paint, is more fading of hull's color, brighter and yellower.

  17. This just blowed my mind

  18. Both inspiring and informative to see your work. My apologies if I have missed any details, but would you have the details for getting hold of the 1/350 US 1944 crew? I've seen some from Black Cat and Tamiya...thank you in advance for any advice.

  19. A great model. What method did you make the split lines on the hull?
