  1. Beautiful. Great looking pilot as well

  2. πŸ™‚ ... Greetings ... πŸ™‚ :
Clearly this is a good example of a well researched aircraft.
Your attention to details as well as that of the camouflage can be appreciated ... the best part ... the pilot figure.
    Very nice work John.

  3. Very nicely done and presented, John (and I agree with George - myself being practically a novice at painting pilot figures, this one looks outstanding).

  4. Nice job John, especially with the pilot. So what's the name of the cat that seems to enjoy watching you take pics.

  5. Exquisitely made, very good work overall. The pilot is awesome and contributes to the finesse of the diorama. Congrats

  6. John, Very nice build on this / looks great ! I have built a couple of these and have really enjoyed these kits, simple yet marvelous little kits, a lot of fun to build.

  7. Really nice work. Wow.

  8. A great build. Very nicely finished, especially the detail on the pilot - adds nice dimension to the project.

  9. Excellent work, nice presentation on an interesting piece of history.

  10. Hi,

Nice job on this Yak, congratulations

    Eric

  11. Thanks for sharing this, John. I really like the way you have presented the display; do you mount this on the wall? If so, how do you fix the Yak to the base?

    • Thank you, David. It's meant to lie flat on a shelf. I just wanted a way to incorporate the model, ground work, and photos in one presentation. I like incorporating the history into my builds.

  12. I love the style of incorporating the model, original photos, and some historical biography. I think it'd also look great (and save considerable space) mounted on the wall - might have to look into that; thanks.

  13. This is a very nice build. I also like how you have incorporated a little history and a photograph in the display. Your pilot looks great too !

  14. That looks really great. I have the Eduard and ZVezda kits in 1/48 and the 1/32 Special Hobby Yak 3 also.
One query: I bought the Bergemot sheets for both scales. What are they like to apply? Any trick and traps? (the 1/48 set has 40 plus options and the 1/32 set about 25 options to choose from)

    • Hello Brett no thank you. The Bergemot decals were a little finicky...probably because I haven't used them before. I used the micro scale products on them and got a little silvering on the stencils. In all likelihood user error on my part though. I found the fit of the Eduard kit better than Zvezda but less derailed. I built the Zvezda kit also and the surface detail was so fine it just about disappeared under primer.

  15. Realy like this one, great job John!

  16. Great posting, John, the setting, and the pilot, really show off the model.

  17. Nice one John. Great photos too.
