ITALERI 1:48 HARVARD MK.IV

September 2, 2017 · in Aviation · · 26 · 2.6K

An RCAF kite from the Goldilocks Aerobatic Team based out of RCAF Station Moose Jaw (Sask). The team was formed in 1962 and were designed as a parody of the famous "Golden Hawks" team. In 1964, with the conversion of pilot training to new Tutor jet trainers, the "Goldilocks" were disbanded. A nice build requiring very little filler. I modified the 2 pistol grip control columns into spade grips and found out at the end of the build that only the front one had the spade grip. I purchased an Ultracast long exhaust seen on the Mk.IV. The decals came from a fellow modeller and they in turn came from, I believe the Modelcraft Mk.IV Goldilocks kit. The clear parts were a nightmare. If someone makes a mask set for these I would highly recommend purchasing them

  1. Nothing like a Harvard [T-6]. Great build!

  2. Love that last pic, George...nice work.

  3. Very nice George, (Is that Craig Sitting in one ?) Always liked the "Harvard" scheme, especially when its done well like this one is !

  4. Great Harvard. Looks really good and in that scheme.

  5. Lovely build, George. That canopy looks a real horror to paint with all those curves, must have taken you ages to get as good as that.

  6. George E-Z Masks has a couple of masking sets for the Harvard / Texan.
    Smashing build !

  7. ANOTHER, beauty by George Henderson Productions!

  8. Nice work. Myself I prefer the Monogram kit (where the rivets really are right), but this example of the Occidental kit is very nice indeed.

  9. That's a great build of a very nice aircraft. Quite a challenge to get the yellow in this nice shape. Great job!

  10. 🙂 ... Greetings ... 🙂 :
Very nice work George, clean and sharp.
The paint work is just flawless, really like this one.

  11. Love the Goldilocks Harvards - built one in 1/72 a while back, and I know what you mean about the canopy masking! Your build is very nice.

  12. Very neat work there, George, that yellow is really good.
