Autumn Mist

So here he is, Verlinden’s 120mm SS Trooper in the Ardennes. As I said in my build article I chose to do this guy different than was intended. He is in the M44 Camouflage uniform in Dot pattern on the box, including pants, and appears as such in just about every build I have seen. This jacket was also issued in “Oak Leaf” as well though, and while that pattern is somewhat rare, or at least not as photographed it was not uncommon. I then decided to just have the standard green grey woolen trousers with leggings. I used Tamiya and Vallejo paints, with enamel washes. I enjoyed the build quite a bit as a change of pace from my usual aircraft subjects!

  5. Nice detail Rob, I like it a lot.

  6. Fabulous, Rob, good job.

  7. Very nice! I love the mixture of the camos from jacket to helmet to poncho, and you got a beautiful distressed leather look on that pouch.

  8. Yes, I decided to do a “plane tree” pattern on the zeltban with the summer side out. Maybe it was dark out when he rolled it up! I do need to work on my face painting, could use some shadows and shading but it looks ok.

  9. Rob, that is artistry! I’d hate to try it in 48th! That or ACU or MARPAT, or the others on your modern military.
