1/48 Tamiya Jagdpanther

November 16, 2017 · in Armor · · 12 · 2.4K

Most recent armor build. Still too clean, I KNOW... I did try to mud it up a bit using a couple of splatter techniques, but it still lacks the grunge. Ah, well, I think the camo job turned out OK. RB & Master Barrels, Hauler P-E, scratch-built 'scopes, brass wire grabs... the usual. paints which behaved very well heavily thinned with Mr. Color Leveling Thinner. All comments & critiques welcome as always. Cheers!

  1. Very nice. The exhaust looks good. Also, you've done a neat job with the decals.

  2. Yep...nice lookin' job, Stan.

  3. Nicely done, Stan! They are ALL new at one time!

  4. Stan, I'm an airplane guy, but I like tanks, especially when they are done well like this. Nice work !

  5. Stan, that is nicely done! Maybe a little dirt, though... or the odd piece of bush to fool the Jabos...

  6. Looks great to me ! The Panther and Jagdpanther are some of the best looking WW2 armor.

    • Tanks are not always dirty or filthy as most often displayed. Just like Jeff said. Take it from us as we are both real life "tankers" from back in the day. 🙂

      • Hi Louis, couldn’t agree more. I was a Mech Infantry guy that lived in a 113 more than I was in garrison for the 3 years, and one of my “pet peeves” with a lot of armor models is the amount of crud that gets packed into the track and suspension. Yes sometimes they get like that, right before you throw a track, other wise most of that stuff gets thrown clear as you move. Rest of the vehicle caked with mud maybe, but tracks not so much. Nothing like breaking track in a mud bog is there? Yikes I think I’m giving myself a flashback, better have a couple of dopplebocks to get me through it. Lol

So Stan maybe some more splatter but your tracks look really good for mostly dry terrain. Think you Jagdpanter looks great.

  7. A great job, dirt or no dirt.

  8. That looks spot on! The wheel and tracks are really impressive.
