Defiance

November 13, 2017 in Diorama

It has taken a while and the major factor of that is the figures. As I am not a figure painting individual, I wanted to take as much time as possible with this diorama as to not compromise the entirety of it, due to bad figure painting. I have a little detail to add but it is complete now as-is.

The diorama is based during the Libyan conflict. The opposition is holding ground in a nearby compound where they are at a stand-off with government troops, loyal to Khadaffi. They get extra reinforcement from two fellow komparerades who are running towards the on-going fire-fight.hope you all like this build as well as my figure painting.

I think I have improved just a little since my last figure painting job.

N.B. I also added some outside photos.

  1. Hi Charles, this is a terrific diorama, really well thought out, and the detail is great, on both sides of the wall as well. As for the name, I’m no expert, but Defiance seems pretty well suited to the subject. Is there any chance of some info regarding the models used, scale, etc?

    • Hi there. Glad you like the diorama. Both pickups are from MENG. The figures are Parcel, a Vietnamese company. The figures are very well done. I will be buying more from them soon for another diorama.

  2. This is a great diorama tjat conveys the chaos and spirit of the Arab Spring. Well done!!!

  4. Now THIS one LOOKS like a diorama…and an excellent one at that. Stellar workmanship, sir….you have a real talent there.
(now prove to me that first one is a “model” – I still thinks it looks TOO real). Just kiddin’, Charles….it’s an outstanding rendition of a truck bay – dunno how ya pulled it off so realistically.

  5. Very nicely done, I like the figure painting job actually!

  6. Very nicely done, Charles. VERY interesting.

  7. Nice work Charles! Brilliantly posed figures!

  8. I do like the concept, Charles.

  9. Thank you Rob. Glad you like as well.

  10. Great work Charles – the figures do make the diorama, and I think you got the look of intensity on their faces very well.

  11. Glad you approve Greg. It took some time to get it how I wanted it. Thanks for the support.

  12. I don’t like this – I LOVE IT – it’s dynamic and alive, you can smell the cordite and hear the casings clattering on the street. Fantastic work!

  13. Again great work on this. Look forward to your future posts.
