December 24, 2017 · in Aviation · · 12 · 1.7K

Ola

As promised, the last one to leave the hangar for this year, an Albatros in 1:48
My first stringbag to date, had some struggles but not too bad as such. The pics are...bad 🙂 But I CBA to do them better at this point, so I expect to redo them.

More here (where the rest of my models are...shamless plug) http://mkgrunf.com/albatros-d-iii-oef/

This one is for Anja

  1. Nice way to end off, looking good.

  2. Hello Matija,
Crisp finish on this model. I like it. Regards, Dirk / The Netherlands.

  3. I have two questions for you... Where did you find a real life surviving Albatros ? and second, How did you shrink it down to 1/48 scale ?

Looks fantastic. What a way to finish the year. Well done ...

  4. My hat's off to anyone who undertakes a build with two wings, struts, rigging and a wooden prop. Stellar workmanship, sir.

  5. Outstanding work, Matija! It looks like you've been rigging planes for years! Your work is great!

  6. Well done Matija. I've only built one biplane - Tamiya Swordfish and one left in the stash - Revell 1/48 PT-17 Stearman. I hope that turns out half as good as yours

  7. Matija, Excellent !

  8. It's beautiful, Matija, Anja must be very happy.

  9. Well done Matija, really is a delight to view all the detail you put into her.

  10. A beautiful build - well done!
