F-14A Tomcat VF-41 august 1981

December 28, 2017 in Aviation

Hello,

I choose to represent this plane because when the old 1/48 F-14 Monogram appear, a french modeler dicided to publish this plane in “Fana de l’aviation”. I read this book a lot of time since 1982 and i am very interesting with this engagement.

This year is the Tomcat year with the Tamiya kit and i decide to have my Tomcat too. But no 1/48 in my workbench… just the 1/72 Hasegawa model. The decals come from Academy kit and the pilots from Fujimi. The base is home made.

I hope it ll please you

Eric from France

  1. This would have been a great one to build in the “Year of the Cat” Group build. Looks Great !!!

  2. Nice Tomcat Eric, looks good.

  3. Great Tomcat build and fantastic base !! one real minor note, the aircraft director should have a flight deck vest [float coat]on

  4. Nicely done, Eric….love them ‘cats. πŸ™‚

  5. Very well done Eric, really like your home made base.

  6. Like Louis said, it would have a great addition to The Year of the Cat group build. I really like the way you’ve presented it, difficult to realise the scale.

    • Hi George, ye, you are right, i dont saw at time the group build, Sorry for this. I hope to be more attentive next year and post in the right group build πŸ™‚

Thank you again for your comment,

      Eric from France

  7. Beautiful work on your Tomcat, Eric! Hard to believe it’s 1/72 scale! Your carrier deck base is really well-done, too.

  8. Very nice result there. As said above, hard to believe it’s 1/72.

  9. Well done Tomcat! Looks great.
