Year in Review – 2017

December 22, 2017 · in Photo Collections · · 15 · 1.8K

Two very long and involved builds with HMS Victory and the subsequent addition of long boats, and the large scale Sopwith Camel, then a figure revamp and a Review piece, a flying bus, and a floaty thing in sea spray... hmmm... reads not so much of modelling priorities as it does a magpie picking up shiny things to line its nest!

  1. How did I miss the post on the Victory!? I have to go back and find it. I know you mentioned earlier (in a WIP I think) that it was slowing progress on other builds!

  2. Fantastic work all the way around Rob! I love your magpie analogy - I feel like that too sometimes - you just never know what is going to trigger the next build priority!

  3. Wonderful! I'm still amazed at the Camel & the HMS Victory. Quite a year!

  4. Yes Rob, you can celebrate and toast on the next year to come, you've done very well! Kudos, Michel.

  5. Pretty good going Rob to say the least.

  6. Interesting Rob, merry Christmas.

  7. A great year of building - surely one of the best on here. I still can't get past the number 76. The armament and ability to fly might work well on some parts of that route on certain days! Happy Xmas!

  8. You have had a great year Rob. As usual you have produced some excellent work. The Sopwith and HMS Victory are my favorites, but all are fantastic my friend.

Here's wishing you a very Merry Christmas, and an even better New Year.

  9. Wonderful builds!

  10. You, sir, are the "beast" of the 'hobby'. Happy Holidays.

  11. Fantastic work through the year Rob. HMS Victory still a favorite. Merry Christmas and all best wishes for 2018.

  12. Variety is the spice of life, so they say, it certainly seems to be yours, Rob. Bernard Matthews for Christmas dinner?

  13. Great variety of models! Happy holidays!

  14. Wow...I'm blown away by the work you completed this year. All are incredibly well-done, but the HMS Victory is simply stunning.
