Building models since age 7 (except for a short respite in my military years). Enjoying it now more than ever. I build across the spectrum but am biased towards towards historical miniatures and military vehicles.

Tamiya Stug III 1:35

I finally finished up a kit that I've had in process for a while. It's a nice classic Tamiya kit I dressed up with some Eduard PE and storage on the rear deck. I had a lot of fun adding the adding wear and tear and chipping on this one. I use[...]

Airfix 1:72 Me262

Another great little Airfix kit. I added Eduard PE to detail the cockpit and used Mission Models paints. It is good kit, but one tricky point is the filler needed to blend in the joins between the wings and engine nacelles.

Meng 1:35 Leopard 2A4

A great kit and a great brute of a tank. I love Meng kits and this is another great example. Plenty of detail and plenty of parts. Such as 3 snap-together parts per track shoe. But the resulting working tracks are fantastic.

Bandai 1/72 Poe’s X-wing

1/48 SPAD XIII late version

Finished a biplane with rigging for the first time in ages. Lots of fun and challenges. The Eduard kit was great as usual, but has a 3-part fuselage assembly that presented some fit challenges that that led to me to do some over done sanding t[...]

Meng KV-2 World War Toons

Took a detour with a fun project. If you need a change of pace you should give one of these a try. Great fit and little clean up needed. I went with a cartoon look. I'm nothing if not creative. Ha Ha

SilverCon 2018 (3/3)

SilverCon 2018 Air entries. Again a lot of very competitive entries. The biplane field was particularly crowded.

SilverCon 2018 (2/3)

SilverCon 2018 Ground Categories. A wide variety of high quality vehicles, figures and dioramas. The Sturmtiger with interior was particularly inventive and well done.

SilverCon 2018 (1/3)

I attended SilverCon 2018 in Northern California last weekend. Great contest! High quality, very competitive entries. Best of Show went to a phenomenal 1/48 B-25. Best entry in the theme '1918' went to Du Schweinehunt! An incredible WW1 dio[...]

Bandai 1/48 AT-ST

After hearing such great things about these Bandai Star Wars kit, I had to try something out of character. Even though these are 'snap tite' kits, they are premium quality and well engineered =. Plenty of detail. Almost zero filling and sandi[...]
