I started this kit back in November 2016, when it was released. As the Tomcat is a complex machine, so is every model kit of it. I worked on this off and on, fighting boredom and loss of interest for […]
Modeling by James Kelley
An old kit from the 1970s, but went together very well. No putty or filler needed anywhere. Painted with Gunze-Sangyo acrylics, and markings are from an old Cutting Edge sheet. The only modifications done were drilling out the gun barrels.
I finished this up last week, for am IPMS/USA review. It’s a great kit. The only additions I made was in the form of a set of Radu Brinzan’s paper seat harnesses.

I won the random drawing award for May 2016! WooHoo!!!! Thank you Martin, and thank you iModeler – The best modeling site online. James (P.S. this one goes to the top of the “to do” pile…)

Finished this one up this a.m. Painted with Tamiya acrylics, as well.Excuse the spurious smoke rings, I claim artistic license and fun. Some things I added were: PE seat harness. Drilled out the cowling guns. Replaced wing cannons with blunt-tipped […]
