And this showed up some areas that needed some attention, also a seam opening up under the front of the fuselage !

Too bad about the seam... at least you caught it before the final paint was applied. I just had a similar experience with my 1/48 He-111 Monogram kit.

Keep plugging away at it and before you know it... 🙂
