Nieuport Ni-17 1/48 – Eduard
This is a Ni-17, N.1887, Stg. Edward Hinkle, Esc. N124 Lafayette, Western front, Spring 1917
This Nieuport has enjoyed a career in service relatively long flight into the U.S. in the French Air Force.
Joined the Lafayette Squadron in November 1916. The first pilot was Willis Haviland, in the following spring to drive it was Edward Hinkle. This presented here is the livery that the biplane showed in the later period.
The operational life of n. 1887 ceased in April 1917.
I used Alclad II for metal finish and acrilic Tamiya and Gunze for other colour (some insigna and decoration).
All from the box. Just added the wires and the tail skid...
Ha... it is my first WWI Biplane...

'm glad you noticed it!
I used Alclad II for the cowling. In particular, the "Chrome" with base black shiny tamiya.
To the rest of the plane the color is always Alclad II. But in this case I used "Aluminium".
