1/48 Monogram P-47D

December 10, 2012 · in Aviation · · 3 · 1.8K

Picked up this kid at a local club in a beat up box with no decals for $2. We can make this work, just add some True Detail wheels, some decals and the pilot because the cockpit lacks detail, and presto-change-o we have a P-47D. Used Tamyia rattle can for paint a pit pen for some detailing and the model was completed in a week end. Gotta love those old kits for a quick fun build, not a show winner but fun none the less.

  1. Nice work...I'd say you got your money's worth - lol And ya can't go wrong with ANY "Monogram" kit.

  2. Thanks Craig, I'm making up for lost time with some of these old Monogram and Revell kits. Not really complicated and they give me a chance to improve my skills. Next post will be a Mossy and an F-84 that did take a first place at Indy last year.

  3. Nice Jug! I'm an old Monogram fan from way back.
