Monogram 1/72 F-11c Hawk

December 16, 2012 · in Aviation · · 2 · 1K

I got this kit at a club auction, in a plastic baggie, with instructions, but sans decals.

I built it out of nostalgia for old kits, built when I was younger, but with an adult 'eye'. I replaced the missing decals with a borrowed kit decal sheet, shot down to on inkjet decal film. As the kit had no interior, just a pilot with a huge pin in his hip, I scratched one again, using the borrowed 1/48 kit as a pattern.I had fun with this one, (I admit I build 1/72's for fun, I tend to get all 'AMS" with larger scales.)

  1. Nice Model! Pre-War "Yellow Wing" Navy subjects make a refreshing change from the comparatively drab wartime schemes. Thanks for posting!

  2. I have build this kit too, but without rigging and one is still unbuild. I realy like the yellow wings planes, hence your model. It looks nice!
