1/48 Monogram B-25H

February 8, 2013 · in Aviation · · 2 · 4.6K

Received this kit as part trade from the daughter of an IPMS modeler. Was one of my first attempts at building a twin prop AC. The B-25H was designed as a commerce strafer and carried a 75MM cannon in the nose as well as four .50 Cal Mg's. Some also carried four additional Mg's in gun packs on the sides. Added true detail wheels, had to use some spare decals as the originals were pretty well shot. Model Master paints in rattle cans were used and after it was painted I didn't have the heart to dirter her up. Barbie III depicting a B-25H from the Ist Air Commando Group is the only one that still flies today. Can't imagine being inside when the 75 mm cannon when off.

  1. Nice build Tom. I love those old Monogram kits. I know some of the fit issues with this kit, but you seem to have gotten them all good. Pretty impressive fire power really, 10 fifty caliber machine guns and a 75 mm cannon. Thats a lot of punishment pointing forward!

  2. A good clean Monogram Classic with nose art. Whats there not to like?

    Two thumbs up.
