March 31, 2013 · in Aviation · · 15 · 3.5K

Here is my recently finished model. This is Hawker Mk.Ib finished with the markings of RAF No.198 Squadron.
Cockpit modified with some parts of CMK set and a seat from Ultracast .
Painting was done with Gunze Sangyo & acrylics.
And finally exhausts replaced by Ultracast goodies.
Happy modelling

    N.

  5. Tolga- аs always great! 10 points.

  6. I remember being at the Reno Air Races 35 years ago, and was watching Bob Hoover do the exact same aerobatics routine in his P-51 as he had done for the two previous days, and a fellow watcher said "Geez, he does it all the same every time!" To which I said "And that's hard to do!"

One can easily say the same thing about your work, Tolga. A similar standard of excellence is hard to do, even when one knows how to do it.

  7. Superior. As usual. Now go find some aftermarket rockets and load the rails.

  12. Tolga,

Did you pre-shade this kit ...sprayed some black over the engraved panel lines or did you post shade and darkened the lines/ engraved panel lines with some dark gray?
Another question, are you laying down a RAF Green and then lightening up the green with several drops of white to provide a lighter color on top of a RAF Medium Sea Gray...again lightening the gray to match the grey values?

    • Yes both of them applied.
First step is pre shading with black
Later after camouflage painting post shading process continues by lightening up the base color of camouflage (green or grey) by adding some drops of white or yellow . And finally if it needs darkened the lines.

      • How about the Red Spinner ...primed with white or light gray and then shot with a dark red followed by several lighter coats of red to match the rest of the kit?
One more the tires, did you use a wash of black between the rubber and the metal hub/wheel?
