21st Century Corsair

May 22, 2013 · in Aviation · · 9 · 1.7K

Added a quick boost seat, photo etch panel, left over trump cockpit parts, left over corsair wheel well parts...O' a superscale decal I think is older than I am lol...fixed the wing sit/ resribed the fold line, wiired the engine, painted the canopy as a 1a, and removed all the toy features...Other than that it is out of the box.

  1. beautiful work rob...have been admiring it for a while now

  2. This is absolutely stunning. I really like the way you weathered it. Where do you find room for all the 1/32 models?

  3. Looks good...nice finish.

  4. Nice job, Rob! Love the paint finish.

From some angles, the 21st century kit looks better than the Trumpeter and Revell kits. Out of the box though, the lack of wing dihedral is a real buzzkill, and the forward fuselage upper profile seems to have a weird curve to it. However, not always visible. Nice job working with what you had to go with.

  5. What were the "toy features" that you removed. Never heard the term before.

  6. Wow! You made a stunning model plane out of a 21st Century toy!
That is one very nice Corsair!

  7. Thanks for all the comments….the toy features…folding wings were the major part of the work………the folding feature did not really allow for the wings to sit right…not to mention the fold was toothed and looked nothing like the real thing. Retractable gear…..and the operable gear doors. the tabs had to be removed and the holes in the fuselage and wing filled.

Where do I find room lol….Honestly I do not have many of them left…..I have sold or traded nearly all of them…..The only built birds I still have are a couple of WWII builds 109s, P40, D-9, 262. and a ki 84

  8. Rob,
Second comment, same question, where do you store these?

  9. Honestly I only have one or two of my builds left ...they have all been sold or traded away for one thing or another.
