Always loved the Intruders and served aboard the Kittyhawk while this squadron was onboard who knows i could very well have directed this particular aircraft after a landing Brings back so many memories

  1. Beautiful model Steven! Coincidentally, that same kit is "on deck" right now in my modeling work schedule. I'm planning the TRAM version. You sure did a great job; any advice or suggestions regarding this build? Thanks, Gary

  2. Thank you for kind words Gary. I did this kit quit a while ago but i do remeber the canopy was a bit of a challenge do a lot of dry fitting with the canopy. Other than that is was a fun build. Sometimes i dont think the RevellMonogram kits get enough respect, i enjoy them. Have fun with this one and post some pics when she's done. Good luck!

    • Thanks Steven. I'll watch out for the canopy. I love the R/M kits. It's funny that I didn't even know there was anything wrong with them when I started building 25 years ago. 🙂 I just figured all models needed a little "wrestling" to get them done. I do think it makes one a better model builder when there is some finessing required. Not that I don't appreciate better kits now, but I still have several more Revell/Monogram 1/48 birds left to build.

      • I totally agree. I have a healthy mix of old school and and new tooled kits in the stash. there's just an amazing feeling when you pull off a nice build with a less sophisticated kit

  3. Great A-6! Met a guy years ago that served on the "Never Dock" in the late 70's. Ops stories were crazy.

  4. Beautiful Intruder, Steve! I've built one Monogram A-6E, and have another in the stash, along with the Revelogram EA-6A, and the Prowler.
