Mig-29UB

February 22, 2014 · in Aviation · · 10 · 2.9K

Here is 's Mig-29UB. It is quite good both in fit and shape. I had already built the Airfix single seater, and when I got this from a friend, I thought that I will make one of those infamous Moldovian Mig-29UB for which I have two decal sheets. It stands out among all the camouflaged migs and sukhois in the display cabinet. Colors are my approximation and I don't know how accurate they are of course. I masked the fin roundels position when airbrushing the dark blue so that the demarcation line would not show through the decals.

  1. Beautiful job, Gordon...looks to be a 72nd scale from the paint can (?) - nice job on the paint scheme.

  2. Hi Craig, Yes you're right it's 72nd scale as all my other aircraft models. Thanks for the comment.

  3. Great job Gordon, nice to see other airforces represented.
    A really nice paint job.
    Well done sir.

  4. It looks really cool, Gordon, I couldn't believe it's 1/72 until I saw the Humbrol paint tin in the photograph.

  5. Very nice work. Great detail considering (or not) the scale.

  6. Very nice work. I remember seeing one of these in Ukraine markings at an air show here in S. Calif. about 20-odd years ago. The work on the paint scheme makes it really stand out.

  7. Gordon,
I agree with all of the above, a very nice scheme and a beautiful model.

  8. Thanks everybody for your positive comments!

  9. Nice clean build.
