1/48th Bell UH-1 “Huey”

As is painfully obvious, this kit didn’t fit real well for some reason (don’t think it was ME – this time). But, as I was almost finished with it when things started to go South, I went ahead and “got her done” this afternoon. All that was left were the roof, nose, doors and windscreen. Coincidentally enough, all the things that didn’t fit real well. I had to put some #8 birdshot between the two forward inside nose braces to keep it from being a “tail-sitter”. Anyhow, I’m done with rotary wing kits for a while.

  1. Looks Good to me Craig, iv recently got this one in a Revell box and
it looks like it could be bit of a misfit queen
    but yours looks good.

  2. Thanks Mark…it’s another one of those “good from far, but far from good” kinda builds.

  3. I agree with Mark. Looks fine from where I sit.

  4. I like it Craig looks great!

  5. It is a challenging kit to do, mainly around the cockpit. It looks like all turned out well though! I like the green tinted glass above the cockpit. I did that on my B-25, it really beaks up the monotony of all the clear windows! Your setting looks very LZ-ey! (I wonder what a smoke bomb or two hidden in the sand would’ve done for the photos?!) I can hear the obligatory CCR music now…

  6. Hey Craig
The model looks good, I like it. I built this kit a while back, and had issues with the overall parts fit too. It was a real challenge to build, mainly fitting the clear parts and nose piece to the main body.

  7. Craig,
The heck with the warts this looks good and I like what you have done. Of course anything USMC has to be good.

  8. I agree with everyone else, Craig, looks good to me, and the outside photography is great.
