F6F-3 Hellcat
A well-known Eduard kit in 1/72 scale. I've added landing and navigation lights. Also kit contains colored photo etched parts for engine and cockpit. Painted with Tamiya and Gunze acrylics. Oils for washes and weathering along with pigments.
Scheme for 1944 year, USS Intrepid, pilot Alexander Vraciu. Alexander is now at age 95 and lives in California now.
Really well done Hellcat Dmitry, thought it was 1/48 scale when I first saw it. I hate to be "that guy" but have a look at the main landing gear struts and doors. They don't appear to have been weathered, and really stand out from the rest of a very nice finish.
Yes, Rick, it's true. I've weathered doors separately from other parts and that didn't work. Will keep in mind this for feature.
I've been there and done that myself Dmitry. 🙂 Could you run a wash over the gear and blend them in to finish?
