Spitfire Mk.IXe (AZ 1/72)
I always wanted to make Spitfire in an unusual painting scheme. So, this one for unpainted look of this famous warbird.
This is a new AZmodel kit in HQT (high quality technology). And I can say that plastic really looks very good and if you don’t know about AZ you can’t say that you’re looking at short run kit. But anyway it’s a short run – sanding and filling for every part (ok, not for every part, but for most of them). But I can’t say that this is a “bad” kit – it’s a high quality short run.
Geometry of this kit is pretty accurate. Kit contains one resin part – cockpit floor. I don’t now why, because it’s invisible due to small scale and small Spitfire’s canopy.
Painted with Alclad II, Mr.Hobby and Vallejo paints. Weathered with oils, pigments by Tamiya and Vallejo.
Painting scheme – IAF, during 1950s.
Hope you’ll like it.
