Hasegawa 1:32 Nakajima Ki-43-III koh Hayabusa

September 13, 2014 · in Aviation · · 15 · 3.3K

Finished this one last week. Waited all week for the sun to shine so I could take some photographs.
The kit is 's 1:32 scale -II that I converted into a Ki-43-III koh.
Modified the airscoop with putty, scratchbuilt a couple of exhaust pipes and that thing on it's belly of Evergreen.
The plane is sprayed with Tamiya acrylics. IJA Green with a pinch of brown on top. Tamiya silver , titanium and alluminium for the bottomside.
Weathered with Revell enamel silver for the chipping, Revell sand colour for the tyres.
Vallejo washes were used and Tamiya weathering pastels.
39th fighter unit markings and number on tail are from a 1:32 Ki-61 Hien.

Best regards;

  9. REALLY nice one Ulrich. Did you paint the hinomarus on? I love the finish on this one - very smooth with a nice bit of weathering. Your modifications look crisp as though they were part of the original kit - well done!

  10. Very well done, Ulrich! I have never built a Japanese plane before, but yours looks like it has to.

    And credits for the scenery you placed the model in! At least one good result of the whether in this country (following your comment to wait for sunshine to take the pictures outside).

  11. It looks very good, Ulrich, like the others have said the finish is just right, not too much chipping, and, it was definitely worth waiting for the better weather, the photographs show off your model in the best way.

  12. Well done Ulrich, very well done.

  13. I just went back and looked again at your model. Ulrich, that is a very creative display platform you photographed your model on.
