Off the reservation again …..

This is the Sizzler built mostly out of the box. I did this for a F.A.S.T. club project, and I must admit it was really a fun build. It does pay to try something different occasionally.

  1. I'm not sure what this is, but it looks like it would be a lot of fun to drive!

  2. Nice Jack, lean and mean, back to basics.
    Looks good Jack.

  3. Nice Jack. Just an engine, wheels and a seat and all the tubes needed to hold them all together!

  4. Ah the memories...I know exactly what genre we're talkin' about here. Late 50's - early 60's at the local drag strip. For me, it was at the airport on an unused runway. When racin' was fun and ya "run whatcha brung." 🙂

  5. Jack, That is a beauty. I had the pleasure to work for a company that co-sponsored the NHRA Hot Rod Reunions in Bowling Green Kentucky and Bakersfield California. I did this for about five years. This is where all the dragster engines are in the front. I got to know Don Garlits and Tommy Ivo on a first name basis. What a thrill for me. These guys were(are) my childhood hero's. Dons nice, Tommy is a really great guy. Your model is spot on and very well done.

  6. Really captures the mood of the times Jack.
    Do another one.

  7. A true classic Jack! You did a great job on this. Well done!

  8. Great stuff, Jack, these are really basic machines, built for one thing only. I saw 'Rat trap' performing at the Goodwood Festival of Speed a few years ago, the burnouts were incredible!

  9. Looks good, Jack. Is it 1/24? The figure sets it off nicely too.

  10. Chrome plated spokes

GREAT memories from this model, I built every dragster that was offered in the early 1960's, a great time to be a kid. Nice job on the model, Jack, so simple yet elegant, beautiful..

  11. Nice kit, looking great !

  13. Well done, Jack !
