1/72 General Dynamics F-16C 86-0269 “WA” from the 57th Wg in “Blizzard” camouflage

December 14, 2014 · in Aviation · · 13 · 1.9K

This is the kit, built using the Two Bobs decal sheet (72-100 from memory). It's a nice kit in terms of detail, but is a bit of a pain to build. I modified the intake shape by adding a triangle of plastic card to the splitter, as well as using a Master nose probe, Quickboost seats and etched steel reinforcement plates (can't remember who they came from though unfortunately).

The color scheme was replicated using masking tape - I had obtained a set of Gator masks but they were two-dimensional and didn't fit, so I resorted to hand-cutting the appropriate shapes.

All in all, reasonably pleased, although it fought me most of the way!

  12. I an loving this Chris. Beautiful model. There is a Baja bug driving around Southern California with this paint scheme. It really looks cool. But not as nice as your build. Worth all the effort. Thanks for posting.
