Airfix 1/72nd scale Dornier Do17Z
Here is my effort at the new tool Dornier Do17Z from Airfix in 1/72nd scale.
It was a completely trouble-free OOB build, finished with Xtracolour enamel paints.
An absolute gem of a kit.

Beautiful job. I had to take a second look as it didn’t look like 72nd scale. Well done.

Beauutiful! We need a good -17z in 1/48.

ICM have done a 1/48 Do 215B and the srue layout says there will be a Do17Z coming (All engine and cowlings are on separate sprues from the wings and fuselage parts.) Oddly enough, it resembles the Airfix kit to some degree in the way it’s assembled….

You could see it??? 🙂
This is just a marvelous kit, did it myself. OOB it is perfect.

Very nice build, and great job on the exhaust staining. I’d love to get this kit but I’ve got an old Matchbox version waiting in the stash – hope she turns out half as nice!

🙂 … Greetings … 🙂 :
beautiful work, the weathering is not overdone, those exhaust stains … Love them!
For sure AIRFIX has improved, I like this one.

That is a beauty! And the most intricate provided interior I’ve seen in 1/72nd. Choice of bombs, and a fuel tank. Scale MGs. Get out the optivisor!
The “new” Airfix, and depending on your scale and individual aircraft preferences, buy them, period. Lately, they seem to get bought out real quick, then you have to wait for another run.
Looks real, and done to a “T”.

Really nice, I’ve seen a couple of these built up now, must be an excellent kit, as I’ve never heard any complaints. Nice work on this one. Looks great !

Thanks, Terry.
I have read that some have had problems with the upper wing to fuselage fit. I just think it needs extra care when aligning all of the bomb bay detail etc, as if the bomb racks or bulkheads are slightly out it can throw the upper wing section out, too.

Looks good man! Like it. Also good display with base and box 🙂

Recently been undergoing a slight ‘change in direction’ after a friend of mine asked me to spray his Airfix Lancaster. Never really been interested in the ‘bomber’ as a general subject but…
Well I’ve started a RoG Ju88 and have been trying to decide between this and the new Airfix He111. Looking at what you’ve done here, Thomas, think I may have made a decision.

Airfix 1/72 kits played a big part in my childhood, and it’s just great see how they’ve come back. It looks fantastic, Thomas, you’ve really done this kit justice.
