These images, courtesy hush-kit.net, are of abandoned MIG aircraft in fields near Bagram airbase in Afghanistan. Clearly, a diorama challenge for interested modellers.

It’s the influence of the “Spanish school”, which has now caught on with real aircraft. Life imitating art, or that there vice versa, or something. “For sale, bargain lot of WARPAC aircraft, fixer uppers, gently used, must sell.”
Is that a two seater MIG 15 UTI I see in photo 3, next to the bust of Vladimir Illich?.
I think so. You can just make out the ejector seat rails to the rear area.

You’re right about the “Spanish School”- those guys are doing some amazing work. Their models look more like 3-dimensional paintings.
I’m planning on building an SU-15 in a “graveyard” version. I think it would be fun and challenging. Thanks for posting those great pictures.
