Tamiya 1/48 G4M-1 Betty Bomber
I built this just cause I could. Finish is Commercial Aluminum overall, with MM enamel IJN Green and Brown for topside colours. The chipping is a fortuitous accident from removal of the masking tape. Kit is OOB with the exception of Tru-Details Wheels, which I sanded down a little to remove the over sized bulge. Markings are for one of the aircraft that help sink the Repulse and Prince of Wales on Dec. 10, 1941.
Funny you should mention the masking tape "error". I've purposely used that very method to achieve the same result(s). Nice Betty. Although a build I've yet to attempt, I've always thought the all white 'surrender' version with the green cross would be something different to have...and no chipping to depict on that one. 🙂

Nice looking Betty. I need to build more Japanese twin engine bombers, but all that glass masking keeps me grabbing something else from my stash instead! One day I'll hunker down and just do one (I think I own them all!).
Thanks. The secret to the dozens of windows is to get a masking set. I used one that was pre-cut vinyl, and it worked like a charm. Unfortunately, I can't for the life of me remember who's set it was. Took a couple of hours to install, but it sure beat the heck out of cutting all those tiny little bits of masking tape.

Thank you! The antennae is fine smoke coloured monofilament mending thread, careful application of superglue, and a small amount of prayer. It's really just that simple. Kinda like the cherry on a Sundae. Finishes it off.
