Italeri 1/48 Fiat CR.42 'Falco'

February 27, 2016 · in Aviation · · 9 · 3.1K

Well, another kit completed, this time, the long term project of the Fiat people voted for.

Firstly, I wanted to apologise to everyone who voted for this and wanted this to be completed back a year ago! I just never had the mojo to complete it

I did choose the Hungarian AF over the Italian and was worth it!

Everything was brush painted on (apart from primer)

  1. Hey, Mike, A level work takes longer.

Like the Hungarian scheme, avoids all them splotches and smoke rings and stuff, plus it's got the chevron style markings, which is what they've gone back to nowadays.

This the Italieri, and not their LW version (got that one) used by the Luftwaffe as a night attacker?

I was glad to see a CR-42 from a mainline company, previously you had to go with shortrun models, or the real old 40th from the 60s, which I think SMER has.

    Nice work, particularly the painting.

  2. Nice lookin' build...I like it.

  3. Good looking build, Michael. I like the split cowling effect,

  4. Nice work! What paints did you use?

  5. Really neat work, Michael.

  6. Very nice looking model, the Italians built some interesting aircraft, even if their cammo schemes were destined to drive post war modellers to drink trying to spray them! 🙂

  7. Love it! I've been trying to decide what livery to put on a 1/72 build, and really like the Hungarian scheme. I think I just may go for that - thanks for the inspiration.

  8. Interesting paint scheme cool build, i'm partial to props though

  9. Nice work! It seems that You used the same H.A.D. decal set as me (or Italeri do hungarian colors decal?) - except I used V-206 instead.
