1/72 Eduard F6F-5
Eduard F6F-5 in 1/72 VF-87 on USS Ticonderoga. Used the prop from a Tamiya Corsair, Added a seat harness bracket made from fine wire, Eduard PE in cockpit, Gun sight glass replaced with clear plastic sheet, Quckboost guns and drop tank, Barracuda Studios resin wheels, wing tip nav lights added with clear sprue, fuselage recognition lights added with MV lenses. Antenna rigged with Uchi super fine rigging thread and whip antennas added with .009″ Nitanol wire. Decals were from Illiad and painted with Gunze Mr Color paint. Exhaust staining was done with Tamiya acrylics.

That’s a great looking Cat! Nice detail work. I build only 72 and like to see folks put some love into their small-scale builds!

Geoffrey, very well done. The color looks good and your decal work looks like it was painted on. One of the most difficult things to get right is the exhaust stain, yours looks excellent here. Best of all, it has that big model look, had you not said anything it would be hard to tell it was 1/72 scale. Very nice !

I’m surprised you had to add so much after market stuff to an Eduard kit, but you obviously know your stuff and have ended up with a superb looking model.

Excellent job, Geoffrey! Like i said before, a unique paint scheme for this plane and not a cliche. I’d like to recommend shooting against a different coloured background. The model looks splendid but with the white background it looks rather dark; I think largely due to the contrast.
