iModeler March Awards

April 11, 2016 · in Uncategorized · · 14 · 1.8K

Once again it is time for our monthly retrospective - a look back at some of the notable March additions at iModeler. Altogether, 110 new articles were posted to our headlines during the period, prompting no fewer than 1360 comments. The numbers are growing!

As per our tradition, we are awarding the Best in Show title to the entry that wins this month's prize, but also list runner-ups as Honorable Mentions. We think that all are great modeling accomplishments that deserve recognition. The jury of the month were @editor, @aisak, @magnusf, @halvarvonflake and @rickard-malmborg.

Every month, all Headline contributions are included in our traditional honorary prize draw. We're looking for the entries that represent the month's highlight in terms of modeling quality and presentation. We also allot an award to a randomly chosen article to emphasize that all contributions to this site deserve recognition.
Please don't hesitate to join iModeler and take part in our next monthly roundup!.

iModeler Best in Show - March 2016

On a personal note, electing a winner proved particularly difficult in this round. Indeed, iModeler has become a scene of some world-class modeling, which I'm sure can be seen not only in the jury's final choice, but also every honorable mention listed below.

Our choice of iModeler's monthly Best in Show is Harry Brogan's (@hbrogan57) Tamiya 1/6 Scale Harley FLH Classic POW/MIA Tribute Bike

Harry's bike is a seemingly well planned build, executed with a great dose of technical creativity and excellent craftsmanship. But what shows through even more is the modeler's passion for the subject... The result is a truly stunning bike that actually "looks real". Very well done indeed.

But wait, there is more! – the Random Award

We are also awarding a prize as a token of appreciation to all our contributors. This is selected through an entirely random draw among all the entries of the month. This time, our lucky winner is Robert Royes @roofrat for "Dog day afternoon plus" - a collection of own photographs from USS Forrestal and USS Saratoga from the years 1975-1978. Thank you for sharing these personal photo collections at iModeler!
