  1. Good luck with the new chapter Bruce !

  2. Lots of talent there.

  3. Congrats to the new club on the block! Some nice diversity in the models, and some great work on display.

  4. Race City...? Mooresville, NC and not ONE NASCAR entry? LOL
BTW, I love that (NASA?) U-2.

  5. It is ironic is it not Craig? Well maybe next meeting. We started this club about the beginning of the year to get together and have fun talking about modeling. There is Show and Tell and we bring models to work on and tell jokes. NO POLITICS! Seems to have worked so far. Thanks for the compliment on my U-2.

  6. Hi, Bruce! Still got that "SOAR" hat. I found out after our E-mail exchange that's Special Operations Air Regiment. Know some Green Berets?
Congratulations on forming your chapter, and fraternal greetings from IPMS Baltimore. If you're up this way, let us know, come visit. Looks like you're off to a great start, hope it continues. That is a nice U-2!

  7. That's awesome! Building models at a club meeting and no politics.

    Congrats on the new club!

  8. Hello Bruce...Congratulations to the new IPMS chapter in Mooresville, NC.I see a wide variety of fine models on display there. Looks like John Loner is enjoying himself. I wish you and the new club much success.

    • John Loner always enjoys himself. You know what they say about simple minds being easily amused. He's actually the one to blame for starting this club. There is also a facebook page.

  9. Thanks for sharing this, Bruce. This is the kind of everyday modelling activity that keeps our hobby and the club life around it going. Not as glamorous as the big shows, but extremely important.

  10. Well done, Bruce. Looks like an enthusiastic turnout. You might want to consider having themed nights across the year. Whether or not as competition nights, they're still a good way to focus attention on particular categories of interest. We have aircraft (March), civilian and figures (June), armour/miltary (September), and an Open Night (December). Naturally people can bring in models anytime but mentally people get 'geared up' for nights that focus on their special interest, which seems to hone the edge to produce better models, in a friendly way.

Good luck. PS I also like the U2.

  11. Good luck!

I really like that SC Have Glass F-16.
