J-20 Fin – A new trainer plane for Finlandia Air&Space Forces

September 30, 2016 · in Aviation · · 8 · 1.8K

This is the 4th model of my ever growing ”Fin Air&Space Force's purchases 2016 and beyond” collection series.

J-20 Fin - A new trainer plane for Finlandia Air&Space Forces (FASF).

It just so happens that the local Ministry of Education ordered by mistake 100 new trainer planes from a Chinese webshop. Using a fast ”OneClickOnly” webshop feature the order was done in a one click.

Fin Air&Space Force have received first 13 planes. Only one small modification was needed to squeeze the plane a bit using the train factory press machine. Original J-20 had to change to subsonic for training. That is why it looks a bit chubby now.

The cockpit is very simple - all buttons and indicators are gone. You can fly autopilot training only = start, stop, reset (good for the playstation generation pilots).

This J-20 will gradually replace present Hawk & Vinka trainers, so no more propeller training here.

J-20 will be used only for training. We received a bunch of additional training material with the plane order. FASF decided to cancel additional ”under the wing add-ons” because The Paris Peace Treaties does not allow us to use nukes in training or weapons which are much longer than the actual fighter plane.

The Model, J-20 Fighter Kids

This is a quality product from the double plastic bag clear parts protection to full color instructions & silk smooth packaging artwork. Part fitting is perfect and it is fun to build with anybody over 5 years old.

I painted using Vallejo German Grey, wing tips first white & Fluorescent Orange final. Orange was a bit tricky to spray. Made minimal invisible weathering while the plane is factory fresh. I left the canopy without the glue so I can later install a pilot, if I'll find anybody clever looking enough …

Thank you for watching - hope you will recover. And good night!

Nice work, this model brings a smile to my face. Clearly these images show a very happy side to modeling, it sure will capture the imagination and curious side of a kid. Very nice and sharp work, I am with Bernard here, where is the weeble?

  5. Cute. Put the big blue bomb on it.

  6. Thank you for the feedback, sirs. No weebles in the house! Got to go to the nearest candy store to get some chocolate eggs & try to find a TopGun Maverick looking weeble ... Thank you for the tip. 🙂

  7. Love the weapons display from...Farnborough air show?
