Beaufighter TF.X by Tamiya in 1/48 scale

December 21, 2016 · in Aviation · · 27 · 2.6K

Needing something simpler after my last build I opted for 's TF.X & discovered a wealth of detail on the web for Coastal Command squadrons based at RAF Dallachy in Scotland.

I was lucky to find Aviaeology decals for these aircraft; simply superb, with 12 pages of detail which I had not seen before. There are in fact, enough markings on these sheets to do up to 16 different aircraft from Dallachy, Including 144 (RAF) 489 (RNZAF) & 455 (RAAF) squadrons. .My choice was 455 Squadron RAAF. Building this was total enjoyment, as befitted my final effort for the year I hope you like it...And best wishes for the festive season & a happy new year to all.

  8. The Beaufighter has always been a favourite of mine since getting the Airfix 1/72 model when I was a kid. This one looks great, and must be quite a substantial model in 1/48.
