Nürnberg Spielwarenmesse, My Personal Highlights
- Tamiya is back in 1:6 motorbikes and brings a 1:48 Kawasaki Hien in 32nd detailing.
- A new (to my ears) manufacturer from Ukraine named ICM shows a very impressive Mig-25
- Ebro's 1:20 Lotus 49.

Looks like you had fun there Halvar.
Some nice stuff coming out by the look of it.
Impressive displays all...Tamiya's new bike is killer!
That Tamiya Hien will be hard to resist...
I know... I'm expecting delivery of one anytime now. I'm going to do a kit review here on I-modeler on it once it arrives.
That would be most appreciated!
Looks like some great new stuff is coming out. I'll bet you had a good time there. Thanks for sharing with us.
Thanks for the update, the Hien is really a nice news!
I won't comment on where your ears ,must have been if you haven't heard of ICM over the past 20 years, Halvar. 🙂
Quite embarrassing, ehh? 🙂
I've got the Lotus Type 49 kit- it's Really nicely molded and detailed.
In fact it is, Erich!
I have Tamiya's old 1/12 kit in my stash and really, the level of detail is quite comparable.
Interesting selection. Nice to see some new bikes etc. I know there are some talented modellers here who will appreciate them, and the Hein looks excellent even though not my usual scale these days, but still one of my favourite types.
Thanks for posting.
Special Hobby had a surprise to me in that 48th Siebel 204. That's not the old vacuform one, is it?
Was hoping to see that 48th B-36 this year, too. I'm sure my wife won't mind stepping around it for the next 20 yrs or so! LOL!
Tamiya Ki-61 Tony is really great and above all previously kit
I already got one and it is really perfect
only in of my stock decals it is difficult to decide which will be the first*
probably kamikaze.
Thanks for this, Halvar. Good to see Tamiya are producing something new in the way of motorcycles, although this Honda isn't really up my street. Ebro have issued a range of interesting F1 cars, including various versions of the Lotus 49, I must get my hands of one sometime soon.
Exactly, George! I was surprised about the fact that they reactivated the 1:6 motorbike concept at all and I was also surprised about the selection of the subject. I'd have rather expected something red and fast, but the Africa Twin may have another meaning to the Japanese.
