1/72 Zvezda MiG-31 Foxhound

June 28, 2017 · in Aviation · · 11 Comments

Another excellent kit by . Model is out of the box, display stand included. As in previous Zvezda kit, parts fit very well together. Missle launch effect made of PUR foam applied on piece of wire and just "stuck" on wing pylon without glueing. Used aquarell colors fow weathering. All in all it was a pleasure playing with this kit.

  1. Spectacular!
I love the "big" Migs and I think the best way to appreciate the elegance of an aircraft with a scale model is to present it "in flight" on a stand,
therefore I really enjoy the pics you show here.
I remember the good old days when all the kit producers included a stand in the box...

  2. Boris, that's a great display and model, agree! in their element!

  3. I like what you've done with this, Boris...this may be the first time I've seen a build that includes a "missile launch" - very creative - I like it a lot...(and I, too, remember when bases were [usually] included in airplane models).

  4. Well, for everyone who miss good old days when kits included display stands, there are cheap Zvezda stands sold separately on ebay. I used one for my latest Hasegawa F-15

  5. Good-looking Foxhound, and really cool what you did with the missile launch! If you've seen my builds, you'll know I agree that they belong "in-flight," as they were designed/intended!

  6. Great work, Boris. There is a really dynamic feel with the missile launch that adds a definite edge to the build. Love it.

  7. Excellent job !

  8. I love that it's an "action" shot! Well done, Boris!

  9. Great work Boris, I love the missile!
