1/48 Revell-Monogram F-15E Strike Eagle
This is “recycled” kit, made almost 15 years ago. It collected vast amount of dust over time and I was thinking of throwing it away considering the shape it was in, but finally I decided to give it a try; after showering the dust away, I peeled off old decals and gave it a new coat of grey. Also new set of decals were applied without silvering effect and protective gloss coat should keep everything in place. All in all, this bird is ready to accompany me for another 15 years.
Weapons are what’s left of original kit, I’ll try to add some aftermarket weapons some time in the future. Right now I’m putting it bact on the shelf.

Quite the before and after! Always better to attempt a restoration than to just toss…

There’s an easy way to not let that happen again. Take two empty cleaner bottles (with trigger spray nozzles) clean out thoroughly. Fill both with tap water, then put ateaspoon of dish soap in one (do not shake it). Spray the model with the bottle that has soap in it to loosen and wash away dirt and grime, rinse with the other bottle. Allow to air dry. You can clean any model this way, including rigged biplanes and sailing ships, never knock anything off and keep it looking new.

Very nice you revived this Boris, the Air Force is grateful and it looks fantastic. I also like buying kits from other modelers’ stash and then build them, a work of gratitude! Cheers.
