F-104 Starfighter

September 24, 2017 · in Aviation · · 14 · 2.3K

F-1o4

Length: 17 m
Cruising speed: 925 km / h
Wingspan: 6.36 m
Manufacturer: Lockheed Corporation
First flight: March 4, 1954
User: Luftwaffe
Engine types: General Electric J79, Turborreactor

1:32 scale model, a fun model to assemble with the option of mounting the engine separately.

Without great difficulties and a good fit of all the pieces it needs little putty, it is supplied with decals to be able to mount different versions.

The only problem was the metallic paint, since it was the first model with this type of paint (AcladII) and the primer did not work well.

  1. For something that "..did not work well..", it certainly turned out quite nicely. Excellent detail work, too. All in all, a very well done build. Good work, sir.

  2. Well done, Carmelo! Great photos, too.

  3. Really nicely painted with great detail. I remember seeing The Vikings at Air Displays.

  4. How nice! Congrats, Michel.

  5. This was built OOB?! They must have re-tooled because this is definitely NOT the Revell 1/32 F-104 I had when I was 10 back in the mid-80s! This looks fantastic and it looks like they now give you a bunch of ground goodies!

  6. Excellent build! Nicely displayed.

  7. Carmelo, nicely done, and in West German Navy markings! They had two squadrons of them. Looks like the real thing!

  8. Carmelo, Gorgeous !, I always like a nice 104.

  9. Whew - great-looking 104!

  10. Very nice work!
Reminds me of my visit at the MFG 2 in the mid-seventies, before leaving School and entering Military Service for 15 month.
Of course we didn't have the opportunity to fly with the F-104 but a short flight in a Do 28 was impressive too for me who hadn't been in the air before.

  11. Thank you very much for your comments, they really encourage us to continue improving and to try new techniques.
