November 1, 2017 · in Aviation · · 11 · 3.4K

Just completed the -4. Markings depict Lt. "Swede" Vejtasa's white 19 of VF-10 on board USS Enterprise in Oct of 1942 during the Guadalcanal Campaign. Painted with MRP paints. Added gunsight glass, some PE in the cockpit, Landing light from MV lens. Ventral windows were short shot so made them with Micro Kristal Klear. Dorsal nav light is a resin piece from Aires, Landing light from MV lens. ZBX homing antenna from Nitanol wire.

  6. Beautiful work ! Especially in this small scale (for me at least... my eyes are not as good as they once were ). Two thumbs up Sir!

  7. Nice - this would have been the Wildcat he flew at Santa Cruz.

Self-serving commercial notice: You can read about Swede Vejtasa at Santa Cruz in my new book "Pacific Thunder," available from you favorite bookseller last week.

  8. It would be a very worthy addition to the Year of the Cat group build, Geoffrey.
