Revell 1/35th scale Man 5t Truck, Kosovo Conflict 1998

A change of pace in building something that doesn't have wings. With a few armor and soft skin kits in the stash, this one was quite interesting picking it up at a kit show a few years ago. When it comes to armor I tend to lean towards the support and cargo trucks, wheeled vehicles. Even then I tend to really take a long time to finish them. This one I started back around 2009 or so. I would just work on each step and then put it up. Finally finished it. It is the Revell of Germany kit which is quite detailed. Dark Green plastic which is kind've soft not brittle. The frame which we start with consists of side frame rails, and crossmembers to assemble it. So off the bat most of the build concerned what lies beneath the cab and bed assy. Standard Bundeswehr camo scheme of Bronze Green, Black and Dark Earth. Using Humbrol Bronze Green enamel, for the overall scheme. I used Tamiya Dark Green for the Canvas bed cover to show a fading effect that would occur quicker than the cab and bedsides which is steel. Tamiya Black was used on the cab and bedsides and then Model Master Oily Black on the canvas. Gunze Dark Earth on the canvas while using Aeromaster Dark Earth which was darker on the cab and bedsides. Still getting the hang on weathering on vehicles. So silver pencil on wear areas nuts and bolts that show removal from service when a wrench will be used (wheel lug bolts for instance) a wash around the wheels and wheel bays, some rust and leaks around the fuel tank filler. Under carriage oil leaks, dirt and mud. Still need to work on this. Still maybe the truck hasn't been in theatre long. Though I do feel a vignette with some figures and a 2nd vehicle would be more dramatic in display. Nice to finally get her done. Now a couple of Hummers yet to finish. Thanks for viewing.
