A visit to the National Museum of Naval Aviation, Part 2
Here's the second batch of photos. The aircraft on display cover the full spectrum of US naval aviation, from day one to the present. The variety and quality of the aircraft is astounding, as many of them were flown in, cleaned up and put out on the floor. Getting good photos is difficult, as you often have to stand under another airplane to get a shot of a second one! It's a good problem to have.

I see what you mean about the congestion, Jaime, but, it's a nice problem to have.
Robert, there are two Phantoms on site and I couldn't get full shots of either of them because of they are packed in with a dozen other airplanes stacked around them.
The place can be a little overwhelming. There's one more series of photos to come from this visit, which was in early November. I haven't even gotten to the trip I did this week, and there's still one more building to cover. Those pics are still in the camera. I'll download and post them when I get home.

The skinless PBY is really cool! Makes me want the 1/32 cut-away model from HPH, except I have to know when to say when! The USAF museum has an F-86 (D I think) set up the same way with one whole side de-skinned! Where the Catalina has a lot of room on the inside, the Sabre is the complete opposite! Crammed full! A neat way to display an airplane!
