iModeler Awards – November

December 9, 2017 · in News · · 20 · 2.4K

Once again it's time for the editorial review of the last month's highlights. 202 new entries were posted to the Headlines in November, prompting no less than 2,684 comments and a record-breaking 122,674 individual article views.

All Headline contributions are included in our traditional monthly prize draw. We're awarding the Best in Show title to the entry that in the eyes of the jury represents the month's highlight in terms of modeling quality and presentation. We also allot a second award to a randomly chosen article to emphasize that all contributions to this site deserve recognition.

Please don't hesitate to join iModeler and take part in our next monthly roundup.

The jury this month were @editor, @aisak, @magnusf, @halvarvonflake, @rickard-malmborg and @raikisan.

iModeler Best in Show - November 2017

This month's jury award goes to Marc Barris' scratchbuilt Pilatus PC 6 in 1/32nd scale.

Everyone who has followed Marc's log in the Work in Progress Group has seen the sheer amount of effort and skill that went into this particular build. Working off of plans and photographs, Marc started his endeavour back in July, and his regular updates left us speechless time and again. His work included lots of styrene cutting, vacu-forming, and even handpainting the shark mouth. We feel Marc's Pilatus pushes the boundaries of our hobby and is an inspiration for trying out new things.

But wait, there is more!

We are also awarding a prize as a token of appreciation to all our contributors. This is selected through an entirely random draw among all the entries of the month. This time, our lucky winner is Charles King and his Scania Boom Haul.

  12. All awards are VERY well deserved! The Marc Barris Pilatus is exceptional. It (almost) makes me want to trash my sophomoric efforts, but it also gives me impetuous to improve.
Charles King's vehicles (& dios) look like photos of the real vehicles.

    Bravo to ALL.

  13. Ok! This is a surprise to me. I did not know awards were given on this site. Wow! Flabbergasted to say the least. I am honoured. Congrats to all. Thanks and appreciation to all you fine modelers out there and on this board. All I can say is we are are inspired by other modelers to better ourselves. As for me, I am still struggling to be better. I probably never reach that level like most amazing modelers out there but it is always fun trying.
