Heller P-51D

Another simple kit, but great for training metal finish. This old 1/72 heller kit, given to me by a friend, is a classic Mustang P-51D “miss jackie”. A little bit of putty in the joints, and let’s go. This time I tried some paints developed here in Brazil for modeling called DryCollors. The technique comes down to applying a shiny black base, so then apply the various finishes available, aluminum, titanium, stainless steel, gun metal, bronze and many more. The less coats, the more metallic the finish is, if you apply more coats, the less gloss will have. Results were impressive. Soon I will make a B-58 with several shades of metal, to better ilustrate this paints.

  1. Interesting application process, Eduardo…turned out pretty well. 🙂

  2. The metallic finish seems to work very well.

  3. Another nice one – like the weathered NMF on it.
