A-20B Havoc 1/48 AMT ( with my lovely Tigercat )

March 21, 2018 · in Aviation · · 27 · 3K

A-20B, “Miss Burma” of the 86th Bomber Squadron, 47th Bombardment Group, based in Italy in 1943.The curious thing about this plane is its name, given that it served in the Mediterranean rather than the China-Burma-India theatre.
Fantastic kit only with seatbelts from Eduard.

  1. Big round engines are never wrong! Very nice Havoc indeed. Miss Burma...maybe the pilot was missing Burma?

  2. Nice. I never realized how big the Tigercat was

    • My loves back to home after exhibition in Vienna. Yes big 🙂

  4. Josef, nice work on both. I've heard the Havoc kit has its issue's but you sure can't see it here. You've done very well with it. Looks great !

  5. Josef, don’t get me wrong, but no American WW2 plane beats the Havoc, it’s simply the most gorgeous plane of its time and your model does full justice to her elegant lines.
Fantastic paint job, the tonal shades of the OD are very well done and the wear and tear is spot on in my opinion. Just PE belts added you say?

  6. hello Josef,
Job well done. Sharp and crisp finish.
    Regards, Dirk / The Netherlands.

  7. Nicely finished and photographed on both accounts, Josef - good work!

  8. My compliments, from one Havoc devotee to another!

  9. Nice builds! Interesting to see size difference.

  10. Great planes. Wish I could see a lot more of these 2 planes. Dont see either of these models very often and it looks like you nailed them!

  11. The 47th BG was originally headed to India and got diverted while crossing Africa.

  12. Josef, great build of a plane that did a lot, and didn't get the recognition it deserved. I once read the story of a pilot who wanted to fly fighters, didn't get that. He put in for A-20s, said it was the closest thing in a bomber.

  13. Great looking models both!

  14. Great looking Havoc, Josef!

And I love the Tigercat, too! They are both 1/48 scale ?

  15. Well done Josef on one of my favorite aircraft. I've built all 4 versions of the AMT A-20 kits and though they have some issues when done correctly they really shine. And your's does just that.

  16. Very neat work and well photographed, too.
