My second Veltro (Greyhound), in the service of the Aeronautica Nanzionale Repubblica and flown by Ten. Sergio Mazzerelli. 3ª Squadriglia, 1° Gruppo, Campoformido (Udine), Italy, Apr.-Aug. 1944
This is a reboxing of the Hasegawa kit with more decal options and smoke ring decals that I used on the model I posted yesterday. Odd thing is with the landing gear. With the original Hasegawa kit I had a heck of a time getting the landing gear struts in position, lots of filing. With this kit they just slotted in place. This is my first attempt at the mottle camouflage. Fairly happy with it but I'll need a lot of practice for the more finer and complicated schemes

By George you got this one down very well. Excellent work on the mottling. Also a rare scheme seen on an aircraft other than a BF or Fw. I know it takes practice as the very first Bf-109 I mottled I used a Q-tip over the airbrushed RLM 70/71/65 with RLM71 mottling. I wasn't confident at the time to airbrush the mottling. Looking forward to more of your work, quite outstanding. Thanks for sharing.

Fantastic work George. Great to see more of these Veltro's build. The camouflage is quite a challenge as you mention. Did you do the mottled part freehand, or use a pattern? I'm currently on my 1/72 Folgore, MC202, working on the mottled part and using a selfmade pattern.
Anyway your Veltro turned out very nice indeed. Great inspiration.

Many thanks. I painted it freehand using an Aztek A470 with Grey tip. The RLM75 was Gunze Sangyo (Gad I wish I could buy this in Canada again) diluted 50/50 with mineral water. The RLM74 was Vallejo Model AIr with a few drops of their flow improver. These were shot at about 10PSI. I really admire you guys doing this in 1:72
