Random Award in November 2017

March 26, 2018 · in Uncategorized · 34 · 1.4K

Ok all. This is a bit of a long overdue article about me being chosen for the November 'Random Award 2017'. My sincere apologies for not doing this last year, but I had other engagements that took priority over modeling. But as the saying goes, better late than never. 🙂 BTW, excuse my thuggish look. I had just gotten in and remember I had to take a photo with the model hastily before I had to leave again.

I want to thank the Adim(Martin) and everyone who made this possible. It was a tough choice deciding on what prize to choose, but I think I made the right choice. Now this model will not be built to its usual standard, as I tend to deviate from the instructions majority of the time, when building my models. So this might just be another sci-fi build. We shall see. I am already planning another truck diorama, right after I am done with an abandon car diorama. Working on getting it finish for the the CCM exhibition in Stockholm next weekend.

Once again, thank you for all the support you all have given me within the short span of being a member of Imodeler. God bless!

  1. I agree (not about your "looks", but about your choice - congrats) - so what'd ya do...take that photo in front of a mirror? LOL -

  2. Hey Charles, look forward to the build, by the way, the look suits the way you build,'' GANGSTER''.

  3. Whichever way you decide to build it, it'll be worth getting to see it! Love all your models and dioramas - they just make you feel like you're sitting in the grass next to them.

  4. Maybe random but this kit is in the right hands in my opinion, can't wait to see your progress on it and maybe the surrounding dio!

  5. Congratulations! Saw one of these tanks at IDF Museum – it's huge!

  6. Congratulations Charles, look forward to seeing the finished product.

  7. The photo reminds me of a lot of contemporary rock bands that take those publicity photos that have them look like tough guy's...don't even think about messing with us. So you come off as a Rocker who models...Charles.

Either way the IDF track looks interesting and worthy of your gifts and talents Charles. Looking forward to see this one on the screen.

  8. Charles, belated congratulations! I always look forward to your work.

  9. You lucky dog, you! (No disrespect intended.) I look forward to seeing this on. I too am puzzled at the reversed box-art image, since you said you weren't in front of a mirror. Inquiring minds and all that, Charles.

  10. Good choice, Charles, looking forward to seeing what you do with this kit. Jeff, it's what happens when you take a "selfie" with your mobile phone.

  11. Prefer the Nagmachon Doghouse versions just for the complexity, but this is nice too. Looking forward to the result!

    • What's the major difference?

      • The Doghouse versions have the cage-effect superstructure grilles that offer increased anti-mine/RPG protection, but only on the later Nagmachons.

Your Sho’t (whip) version is earlier than the Nagmachon as it was developed directly from the old Sho’t Kal hulls (sans turret), but still an interesting subject in my view.

Here’s an image of the Nagmachon Doghouse.

  12. You lucky dog! I love IDF armor. Cant wait to see you build this one!

  13. Congratulations Charles ! I'm sure you will turn it into another masterpiece.

  14. Hello Charles,
Well deserved. Just looked at your Citroën Deux Chevaux.
    You are a Master Modeler.
    Regards, Dirk / The Netherlands.

    • Hi again, Dirk. Appreciate your kind sentiments. But me being a Master Modeler is far from it. But I do wish to reach that status one day soon., 🙂 But I surely do like your confidence in that respect.
