Tamiya, 1/72nd scale, Spitfire,

April 8, 2018 · in Aviation · · 16 · 1.6K

Hello gentlemen, I'm sorry that I've not contributed to iModeler recently. This is a I made a while back. Apart from the rigging (for which I used knitting elastane), It was made straight from the box. I finished the model with xtracrylix paints.

  1. Very nice Spit Julian, could you specify what kind of knitting wire you used for the antenna and where to get it? Congrats and Cheers!

    • Thank you Michel. I used knitting elastane for the antenna, which can be purchased from a haberdashery/ wool/ sewing shop. I got mine from my local shop a few years ago as it lasts a long time.

  2. Nice to see you back Julian, especially with a lovely clean Spitfire. I'm really enjoying this trend toward less weathering.

  3. Nicely done, Julian...and no worries about your recent "hiatus" (I think I may hold that record) - 🙁 Oh...and that detail on the underside is outstanding!

  4. A great looking Spitfire!

  8. One does not see this great kit built that much anymore, but I thinks it builds into a wonderful little model. Well done Julian.
