More from the scrap book, NATO
Something between builds. Just a few shots of NATO forces that I took in my youth while in the Navy, Three ships from the Netherlands, Overijssel, Deruyter, and Everstan, a RN Sea King, HMS Hermes at Naval Station Mayport Fla. I believe that we were taking part in a NATO exercise,1978. Canadian HMCS Preserver along side Forrestal in the Atlantic, and a FG-1 Phantom at NAS Oceana.
Tragedy that the Forrestal went the way of the Big E, legends that were scrapped for sheet metal. Thanks for sharing these, Robert. I’ve always enjoyed seeing your photos.

Love the 007 Phantom Rob, great photos all.
Thanks for sharing these photos, Robert.
Interesting pictures. especially the Dutch ships.
Only the frigate in the middle survived. To my knowledge still in active Indonesian service.
The rest is history.
