Trumpeter 1/35 AS-90 WIP
Evening all,
Here are a couple of quick snaps of my in progress Trumpeter AS-90. This one is a shopping cart full of firsts for me.
First time using photo etch
First time doing any scratch work (just some add ons and detail work…but hey, its a start)
First turned barrel
First aftermarket individual link tracks (you can see one set rolled up just off to the side)
I’ve laid down NATO green and then Brit armor tan and chipped heavily, but I’m not 100% happy with how it turned out just yet. I learned a long time ago that if I get frustrated with something to walk away for a couple of days. If I don’t then I try and “fix” it which doesn’t really work and then try to “fix the fix”. Ultimately I then just want to strap a bottle rocket on it and send the project in to orbit and be done with it. So long way of saying, pictures will be coming in a day or two.

Looks like a pretty good start to me….but where do those two cowlings attach? 🙂

Thanks. It’s been in the planning stages for a couple of years.
Good eye on the cowling.

Great progress on your AS-90, Michael!
I bought a set of the individual metal track links. Superb details, and a major pain in the … I really like the look but boy is it tedious. It took all the fun out of the project for me!

Looking good – and as an aircraft-builder I too am curious to whom those cowlings belong – could that be a Beau?
